Jantjies Snr passes away
27 Jan 2013
The father of Elton and Tony Jantjies passed away over the weekend.
Thomas Jantjies, 46, passed away in a Pretoria hospital on Saturday, after suffering from serious complications caused by a bee sting. He was a warrant officer in the army, and played a big part in sons’ rugby careers as a mentor and kicking coach.
Springbok and Lions flyhalf Elton (22) will start his loan stint at the Stormers in four weeks time, when the Cape franchise faces the Bulls at Loftus on 22 February.
Younger brother, Tony (20), is based at the Bulls and represented the Baby Boks in the Junior World Championship last year.

An unaccomplished headline that slides down the slippery slope into “The father of elton & tony jantjies. . .”
Name the rest of his children (if any) while we are at it

Saw the TransWorld Sport interview with Elton & his dad and you could see he played a huge part in both his sons’ careers.
Can only imagine how it’s going to impact them going forward as players and as young guys, sincere condolences.

Condolences to the Jantjies family, especially Elton and Tony. Their father was a stickler for discipline and earning your keep. Make no mistake these boys idolised their dad and always consulted with him on big decisions. Terrible time for them as they are just reaping the fruit of his drive.

We need more dads like these to aid the youngster coming through…
