Duanne has proved himself at test level. His temperament counts for a lot. He never panics and he knows how to suffocate the most dangerous opponents. Flashy skills and entertainment levels may be pedestrian, but he has my vote when we play the All Blacks. He will make Ritchie mak soos n lam.

Duane was one of the better bok players this year, showed that he is a demon attacking the ball at the tackle, and solid everywhere else. If Carr is to play 8, then Duane would need to move to 7 at the very least, which is not a real problem I don't think, some people feel that he is marginally better in that role in any case. What is nice for the stormers if they can have all their players fit this year, is they do have one hell of a pack! p.s. Id play Fourie at 6, no exceptions. He was seriously outstanding there last season.

@John Galt-14: The trailer isn't the problem. The french no. 8 is of similar build and is very effective. Duane uses his bulk well in the contact situations.

@Mr Black-4: Nizaam is a different type of 8. In certain games he should start there.....If we play Elstadt and Eben at 4 and 5 (at times....) you have an idela scenario for Carr type 8. Silky running etc (I hope his knee has healed 100% and that he hasn't lost any speed). He was great at 6 in the Junior WC 2 years back though....and many do feel it's where he should play. I'm just keen to see him on the park.
