Kings sweep past neighbours

The Southern Kings coasted to victory against South Western Districts in George.

This Kings won 29-13 after leading 10-6 at half time.

Coach Matt Sexton will be pleased with his team’s defence more than anything else as the Super Rugby region scored five tries to one.

Both teams used all 26 match-day players, with both coaches introducing 11 second half new faces.

Reports singled out SWD’s lock Hein Potgieter and Kings scrumhalf Shaun Venter, loose-forwards Lyndon Hartnick and Michael Vermaak and centre Siyanda Grey as players to shine.

Oh dear. Just managing to beat SWD is not flash. This is really going to be a seeerrriouuusly long and embarrassing season for the Kings and SA rugby. A Fukup of epic proportions!

The score is not importend, the kings are there so that the people from EC can also see big rugby. We can now also go and watch Habana, Basson, Pieterson, Savea, Gear and many more. Watching them live will grow the rugby here even faster. I can still remember watching brumbies and chiefs many years ago against sharks and it was great. Lomu still played for chiefs. Awesome! Many people here can’t wait for S15 to start.
