Sharks lash lousy Leopards

The Sharks shook off the rust with a 71-8 pre-season win against the Leopards in Pietermaritzburg on Friday night.
John Plumtree’s men led 31-3 at the break after tries to flyhalf Pat Lambie, flanker Jacques Botes, right wing Odwa Ndungane, No 8 Tera Mtembu and left wing Lwazi Mvovo. The visitors’ points came from the boot of flyhalf Johnny Welthagen.
The Sharks continued to dominate after the break with Mvovo and Botes each getting a second, and flanker Jean Deysel, captain Frans Steyn and loosehead prop Allan Dell also crossing the whitewash.
The Leopards finally scored a try through replacement Elardus Venter, but the Sharks had the final say when Mtembu scored his second of the night just before full-time.
Lambie slotted five conversions for the Sharks and replacment Meyer Bosman three.

Jordaan has his hammy issues as well which means you could very well see JP back at 13 for a few weeks at the beginning of this season.

Oh yes, you are wrong with your assertions. If you’ve been on here long enough you would know that I have a lot of positive things to say about Beast, Bissie, Jannie, Keegan, JPP, Adi ( in the past) and even Lambie.
I’m not that much into Fransie though but you know that, even as a “newcomer” on this site, don’t you? That’s what gripe you the most, isn’t it? Somebody who does not care as much for Fransie as you do.

Man freezes to death after morgue mix-up
Moscow – A Russian man who was wrongly declared dead and placed in a morgue passed away two days later, likely because he froze to death in the ice-cold facility, prosecutors said on Friday.
The tragic mix-up came to light when grave-diggers noticed the man’s eyelid flicker shortly before the scheduled burial.
A short time later the man did actually pass away.
A neighbour had found the 57-year-old man lying motionless in his house and called medics, who declared him deceased and sent him to the morgue.
Authorities suspended two doctors from service over the incident, said prosecutors in Pskow, about 700km northwest of Moscow.
An investigation continued.

Johannesburg – A half-blind, hearing-impaired grandmother was allegedly raped by a man who then fell asleep in her bed in Mthuvi village, Dutywa, Eastern Cape police said on Friday.
Police spokesperson Jackson Manatha said the 69-year-old woman was sleeping in a rondavel with her 12-year-old grandson when a man broke in at 02:00 on Wednesday.
“We suspect that the man was able to push the door open without waking the granny because she cannot hear properly.”
Manatha said the woman was also “partly blind”.
Her grandson told the police he heard noises, but thought his grandmother was going outside to the toilet.
“The man allegedly raped the granny and was able to stop her from screaming. She then ran out of the rondavel and was found at 07:00 sleeping next to the garden by one of the neighbours,” he said.
The neighbour took the woman inside the rondavel to see why she had slept outside.
“But the neighbour was shocked to see running shoes protruding from the granny’s bed. The man fell asleep in bed… he must have been drunk,” said Manatha.
The neighbour pulled the blanket back to find a man sleeping in the bed.
“They were supposed to call the police first, but the suspect woke up and ran away.”
The alleged rapist, in his early 20s, was identified is a neighbour.
He was yet to be arrested.
“We have his name and we are looking for him,” said Manatha.
