Sharks lash lousy Leopards

The Sharks shook off the rust with a 71-8 pre-season win against the Leopards in Pietermaritzburg on Friday night.

John Plumtree’s men led 31-3 at the break after tries to flyhalf Pat Lambie, flanker Jacques Botes, right wing Odwa Ndungane, No 8 Tera Mtembu and left wing Lwazi Mvovo. The visitors’ points came from the boot of flyhalf Johnny Welthagen.

The Sharks continued to dominate after the break with Mvovo and Botes each getting a second, and flanker Jean Deysel, captain Frans Steyn and loosehead prop Allan Dell also crossing the whitewash.

The Leopards finally scored a try through replacement Elardus Venter, but the Sharks had the final say when Mtembu scored his second of the night just before full-time.

Lambie slotted five conversions for the Sharks and replacment Meyer Bosman three.

@Transformation-151: That you don’t deserve to be in the competition because you never earned it and are not good enough. That Cheeky lied to get in and has not stuck to his promise of transformation, that it is political and not sport that wins here.

70% Possession to a team without half of their players… and 6 tries… solid defence I see, Crusaders are going to roast the Kings on an open fire and have their way with their wenches before halftime.

Groom MUST be our no. 1 scrum half. I hope AC sees it that way too.

    @John Galt-172:
I was not surprised at all. I expected that kind of reaction from you. After all, you are one of those Shark supporters who like to call people names, as demonstrated in this post again.

So go ahead. Use another one next time. “Knobend” is getting boring, my little CUNTRY boy.

Naw, i do not agree. The Sharks slaughtered the Leopards and are therefore the overwhelming favourites to win the SA conference at least.

Remeber the Cheetahs beat the Stormers and the Lions beat the Cheetahs. We are in serious trouble.

Joe P seems to be more determined then last year when he seemed to just go through the motions. It shows what competition (read Taute) can do to a player.

  • 181.nama1: Reply to this comment

Kolisi really came into his own in the 2nd half. Candidate for MoM.

Last try of the match by Joe P.

    Final score: 57 – 0.

    1 and 2 was even

    3, 4, 5, 6 to Sonny

    7, 8 even – or Botha edging

9 to Botha with Sonny receiving a standing eight count

10 to Botha completely with Sonny hanging on and clearly incapable of standing on his own feet BUT (and its a big but) the bell then gets rung about 15 seconds early in the tenth..?. huh.? wtf..?..

and then of course there rounds 11 ans 12…?… still waiting for an explanation…

  • 197.nama1: Reply to this comment

    So:
    1, 2, 7, 8 were even. (40 points each)
    3, 4, 5, 6 to SBW (SBW 40: Botha 36)
    9, 10 to Botha. SBW 17: Botha 20)

1 point deducted from both boxers.

So on your scorecard you had SBW 96 – 95 at the end of round 10.

SBW wins even on your scorecard.

    There were no rounds 11 & 12.

Sonny boy williams won on points over 10 rounds, no doubt.

But he was a gonner at the end of the 10th, no doubt.

Match was scheduled for 12, controversy.

    you’re a larf, Nama

i said 7, 8 were even or Both edging.

most importanlty, as expected, you have nothing to say about the bell being rung early in the tenth when Sonny was for all intents and purposes TKO’d and obviously about to be knocked out.

keep fooling yourself if it makes you feel better.
