Kaplan’s Cheetahs’ century

Jonathan Kaplan will referee his 100th Super Rugby match in week two. Here are initial Super Rugby referee assignments for the opening month.

Super Rugby Referee Appointments

SANZAR have announced the referees to officiate the first four rounds of Super Rugby action. There are only four Australian teams taking part in the first round, with the South African and New Zealand teams joining in the second week.

Of the big second round clashes, Jaco Peyper will blow the North vs South derby at Loftus, while retiring Jonathan Kaplan gets the Cheetahs vs Sharks match in Bloemfontein, his 100th Super Rugby match. Lourens van der Merwe gets the Kings match against the Western Force.

In the third round, Jonathan Kaplan again refs a Sharks match, this time at home to the Stormers, while Chris Pollock is in charge of the massive New Zealand derby between the Blues and the Crusaders.
