The basis of any good spinner is the ability to turn the ball, but in doing so they initially would have to sacrifice accuracy.
So at junior/school level they try and “rip” the ball which leads to long hops which gets hit out the park.
That same bowler will then be told to concentrate on accuracy which cancels out the spin.

Its a vicious cycle.

Since readmission Shaw, Eksteen, Symcox and Harris have all been average spinners that held up an end with Symo the only one with some batting ability.

In terms of all round cricketing ability Robbie P is at the top of the list.
