England ease past France

England ease past France

France have lost for a third successive time in this season’s Six Nations Championship.

England won 23-13 at Twickenham and are now favourites to win the title.

Owen Farrell scored 12 points and replacement flyhalf Toby Flood kicked two penalties against a French team that were competitive for the first hour but faded in the last quarter.

France, unbeaten in the November Autumn internationals, were the tournament favourites but have lost to Italy in Rome, against Wales in Paris and now England in London.

    Thanks to the mighty Freddie Le Sharkee
    What a dragon for England he turned out to be

    They did ease past them in the last quarter but before that I figure France were the better team – stepped off intensity upfront whereas before that they’d been all over England

    The reason why England won, in fact the only reason, is because Craig Joubert had a shockingly poor game.

    Joubert pulled it off for the Poms, that was a given from the minute go.
    But the French arrogance which St Andrei seemed to be dozed of didn’t help, picking same team that lost to Italy and Wales 3rd time was pathetic and asked for punuishment.
    Bulls faced same issue with Peyper but they made a plan, albeit a faulty one but it worked somehow,

    @Mugabe-3:
    So the fact that France couldn’t manage to beat the mighty Italians or the world beating Welsh while England beat the AB’s, the Irish and thumped the Scots have nothing to do with it?

    @Hondo-4:

    Hondo – what are you talking about? There were EIGHT changes to the side that lost to Wales/Itlay.

    Where St Andres messed up terribly was taking off his best players – notably Thomas Domingo – and replace with contra-impact off the bench – while the Pongo bench players made tremnendous impact.

    @Mugabe-3:

    As for the excrutiating Joubert this is what the Sunday Times said:

    “Ref watch: Craig Joubert (S Africa). Disastrous. This match turned when he gave England a try that should never have been awarded and France no doubt felt almost as cheesed off with him as they had been after his horror show in the World Cup final – and that is saying something”.

    Joubert is not a world class ref and he clearly has a major anti-France agenda. I’d love to see France refuse to play if he is anywhere near the adjudication – not touch judge, video ref – nothing – they should refuse to play, not only if he is in the stadium as a spectator but if he is within 500miles radius of the game.

    England i am afraid are gearing up nicely for the RWC2015. MEthinks they could be another 2003 team, eoyt will be interesting for Poms!!
