Racing Metro scoop Steyn

Racing Metro loved having Frans Steyn in their ranks. Now they will have the other Steyn, fellow Bok Morne.

Racing have confirmed the signatures of Steyn following the completion of Super Rugby this season as well as Bulls lock Juandre Kruger.

Bulls flank Jacques Potgieter, who has signed for the Bulls Super Rugby team until 2015, also appears headed to Japan in place of playing Currie Cup rugby.

Rapport’s Stephen Nell reported that Stormers and Bok lock Andries Bekker appears headed to Japan following the Super Rugby season.

Stormers and Bok wing Bryan Habana has already confirmed he will be joining fellow Boks Joe van Niekerk and Bakkies Botha at the internationally star-studded Toulon.

The southern French club lead the Top 14.

Pretoria – Bulls and Springbok flyhalf Morne
Steyn has agreed to leave the Pretoria Super
Rugby franchise and join French Top 14 club,
    Stade Francais.
Steyn, who has 97 Super Rugby caps to his
name, has signed a three-year contract with the
club, according to the Super XV website.
Ironically, after an indifferent 2012 season during
which he was replaced as Springbok No 10 by
Pat Lambie and Johan Goosen, before falling
behind Elton Jantjies in the pecking order, Steyn
appears to have turned a corner this season -
while Goosen and Jantjies have struggled to find
    form.
Steyn will leave the Bulls after the 2013 Currie
    Cup season.
The Blue Bulls company which runs and owns
the Bulls Super Rugby franchise is expected to
confirm the announcement later on Monday.
Stade Francais are currently languishing in ninth
spot in the Top 14 standings.
Steyn will join fellow South Africans Michael van
Vuuren (hooker), Gerhard Mostert (lock) and
Anton van Zyl (lock) on Stade Francais’ books

The right time for Steyn to move on. He has never been my favorite player as I tend to enjoy free flowing running rugby, but he won the Boks and Bulls a bunch of games with his impressive boot. Will never forget that kick against the British Lions.
