    @Te Rangatira-105:

SA Teams never gonna get 4-5 points each game against Cheetahs.
Cheetahs could be 12-10 ahead against Chiefs after 60 minutes.
(only Johan Goosen missed 3 penalties and give away try)
score was 3-17 after 60 minutes.
Fatigue after long flight played a big role.
Game against Highlanders would be much better, especially when Goosen find his goal kicking form.

Cheetahs score tries 3 – 2 against Sharks.
Cheetahs beat Stormers in warm up game.
Dont underestimate the Rugby Fabric of Sounth Africa.

    @Transformation-107:
Chiefs were not terrible in 1st half.
It was the Cheetahs playing good rugby with about 70% possession.
They just not score tries that were on.
    Chiefs defence was briliant.

Only after 60 minutes the Chiefs took control.

The all time records paint an incredibly illuminating picture of the South African teams’ record in Super rugby. Starting in 1996 with the Super 12, these are the respective records of the “Big 3″:

    Sharks:-

    Total of all played 222
    Won 113 – 50.9%
    Lost 102 – 45.9%
    Drawn 7 – 3.2%

    Played at home 107
    Won 69 – 64.5%
    Lost 36 – 33.6%
    Drawn 2 – 1.9%

    Played away 115
    Won 44 – 38.3%
    Lost 66 – 57.4%
    Drawn 5 – 4.3%

    Stormers:-

    Total of all played 204
    Won 104 – 50.9%
    Lost 95 – 46.6%
    Drawn 5 – 2.5%

    Played at home 102
    Won 59 – 57.8%
    Lost 40 – 39.2%
    Drawn 3 – 3.0%

    Played away 102
    Won 45 – 44.1%
    Lost 55 – 53.9%
    Drawn 2 – 2.0%

    Bulls:-

    Total of all played 219
    Won 106 – 48.4%
    Lost 106 – 48.4%
    Drawn 7 – 3.2%

    Played at home 111
    Won 71 – 64.0%
    Lost 37 – 33.3%
    Drawn 3 – 2.7%

    Played away 108
    Won 35 – 32.4%
    Lost 69 – 63.9%
    Drawn 4 – 3.7%

Things to take from the records:

The Sharks and the Stormers have exactly the same win ratio of 50.9%. If the Sharks win this weekend and the Stormers lose (or vice versa) the winning team will have the best stand alone win percentage of any SA team.

The Sharks have the best home record of any SA team (64.5%), marginally ahead of the Bulls (64%). Of the “Big 3″ the Stormers have the poorest home record (57.8%).

The Stormers have the best away record of any SA team (44.1%).

To put this in context with our international counterparts, here are the records for the top two sides from New Zealand and Australia:

    Crusaders:-

    Total of all played 235
    Won 156 – 66.4%
    Lost 72 – 30.6%
    Drawn 7 – 3.0%

    Played at home 118
    Won 97 – 82.2%
    Lost 17 – 14.4%
    Drawn 4 – 3.4%

    Played away 117
    Won 59 – 50.4%
    Lost 55 – 47.0%
    Drawn 3 – 2.6%

    Blues:-

    Total of all played 220
    Won 128 – 58.2%
    Lost 88 – 40%
    Drawn 4 – 1.8%

    Played at home 113
    Won 79 – 69.9%
    Lost 33 – 29.2%
    Drawn 1 – 0.9%

    Played away 107
    Won 49 – 45.8%
    Lost 55 – 51.4%
    Drawn 3 – 2.8%

    Brumbies:-

    Total of all played 220
    Won 128 – 58.2%
    Lost 89 – 40.5%
    Drawn 3 – 1.4%

    Played at home 112
    Won 85 – 75.9%
    Lost 26 – 23.2
    Drawn 1 – 0.9%

    Played away 108
    Won 43 – 39.8%
    Lost 63 – 58.3%
    Drawn 2 – 1.9%

    Waratahs:-

    Total of all played 217
    Won 113 – 52.1%
    Lost 100 – 46.1%
    Drawn 4 – 1.8%

    Played at home 107
    Won 73 – 68.2%
    Lost 33 – 30.8%
    Drawn 1 – 0.9%

    Played away 110
    Won 40 – 36.4%
    Lost 67 – 60.9%
    Drawn 3 – 2.7%

    Things to take from this:

The top SA teams’ records suck in comparison to the top NZ/Aus teams’ records. However, the slates are being evened with every passing season as the Sharks, Stormers and Bulls continue to have sustained positive results.

@ShaunB-154: To be fair to the stormers though when they play NZ teams its more like away games for them.
