Brutal Brumbies brush aside Tahs

The Brumbies scored four tries to comprehensively beat the Waratahs in Canberra.

The win came at a cost with the Brumbies losing Wallabies captain David Pocock to an ankle injury. Pocock may miss the rest of the year because of the injury.

The Brumbies, who led 21-3 at halftime, won 35-6.

Jake White’s team scored a brace in the first half and continued their dominance against Australian opposition.

The four try bonus point stretches the Brumbies lead in the Australian conference, and also sets the pace in the competition standings.

Former Wallabies legend George Smith excelled in his return to rugby and embarrassed Wallabies coach Robbie Deans, who earlier in the week said Smith would not be considered for the Wallabies against the British and Irish Lions.

The Waratahs were ill-disciplined and this allowed the Brumbies to build early momentum with three converted penalties.

The match was strewn with yellow cards, as the Brumbies started the second half with fourteen men after lock Sam Carter was given his walking orders after continuous infringements at the breakdowns. With ten minutes left in the match, each team lost a prop as both Ben Alexander and Benn Robinson got yellows for foul play.

The Brumbies have yet to concede a point in the second half of a match in this seasons competition.

The Brumbies now travel to South Africa to face the Sharks and the Stormers and the Waratahs play the resurgent Cheetahs in Sydney.

Plus White has cordoned a few game breakers in the Brumbies setup being a. Pocock (now injured) b. Mogg c. Smith and the hooker

The difference between Brumbies and Waratahs today was pathetic defence and handling and turnover gifts by Waratahs and the superiority of supporting play by Mogg and Smith behind Pococks leadership. Waratahs playing atrocious rugby giving freebie possession and turnover penalties to Brumbies all game long.

White is no loss to S.A. rugby he’s perfectly at home there where he landed and all the fat full of himself overrated agendas and attitude will come full circle and all the overrated hero worship will be recognized for what it is in due course make no mistake.
