Plum positive Sharks will produce
11 Mar 2013
The Sharks may have remained unbeaten following their visit to Port Elizabeth, but it is their confidence that will return home in tatters.
John Plumtree warned his charges ahead of the match that they are not in for an easy time, but to not cross the whitewash at all is a concern. Even more so after the Sharks dominated in the early exchanges, camping on the Kings tryline without a way through.
This was an encouraging sign for Alan Solomons, Matt Sexton and the team, who was tipped to break records for conceding points this season. Not only have they kept opposing teams to only 2 tries in 160 minutes, they are ahead in terms of points aggregate. Yes, it may still be early in the season, but it cannot be denied that this Kings team is showing promise.
For the Sharks though, their next challenge is the Brumbies, a team that has scored ten tries in three matches and have not yet conceded a point in the second half of a match. Plumtree and his assistants will have to return to the drawing board to get their attacking nous back.
Last year the Sharks were one of the best attacking teams but have lacked that flair so far this season, only managing two tries in three matches.
An organised defence is what can be expected from the Brumbies, as Jake White and his charges have only conceded a single try in three matches to date, and will prove a tough defence to breach.
Plumtree is of the opinion that his team will come good, and is asking for patience from the fans. He admitted that it was frustrating watching the match against the Kings, and this showed with him replacing his captain with plenty of time left in a game that could well have been lost.
Durban is still one of the worst places to play rugby at this time of year, and is confident going into the Brumbies clash while still being cautious.
There is no news on the extent of Jean Deysel’s injury, who is key for the Sharks ahead of the Brumbies clash. Once he left the field all momentum was lost and the Sharks looked dazed and lost without their muscle.

@RageagainstHG-387: My newest fanboy…
Brokeback Noddy badge on its way…
Consider it your Medal of Honour…
Welcome to learning about courage, bravery and honour – proper rugga virtues – for the first time in your life…
The path will be narrow… The path will be long… but stick with HG, and you may become a real rugga man yet, my son…

Oh, the Salad Days!
It sortof stands to reason that only a cnut would be familiar with a cnutcucumber:
More enlightened folk would surely rely on Danny the Dolphin (or similar)
{koff, koff}
BTW, Danny’s my other nick
“Oh, Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling
…
And I shall sleep in peace until you come to me.”

@stormersboy-358: am sorry but this is the most b.s written here, I watched both games and Morne Steyn owned the Blues, skills wise, kicking ways, very complete performance and was better than Goosen’s. the love affair causes ppl to lose their ability to be impartial
10 – Johan Goosen (Cheetahs):
The confidence in his own ability is back and he can still get better. He clearly eased himself back into the game earlier in the season.
Bubbling under: Morné Steyn (Bulls)
12 Mar 2013, 13:10 pm
@papaown-412: I am watching a replay of the game as we speak. Morne has just missed his second shot at goal and kicked his second touch kick out on the full. Goosen was better.
12 Mar 2013, 13:34 pm
@papaown-412: Well you may have a different opinion, but that was Rugby 365′s team of the week. If you checked post 260′s team of the week from ESPN you will see Goosen there too,
So BS it probably isn’t.

” You flatly denied this.”
deysel is NOT a fetcher, he like vermuelen might be able to steal a few balls here & there but he is no fetcher! a trio of marcell, deysel, kanko is not an ideal one…it can suffice but not ideal.

Southern Kings responds after fight amongst spectators during the game between the Southern Kings and the Sharks
Eastern Province Rugby is aware of the video currently doing the rounds on social media, relating to a fight that broke out between spectators at the game between the Southern Kings and The Sharks on Saturday, 09 March 2013.
Eastern Province Rugby does not condone this type of behaviour and we are calling on all our spectators to please behave themselves in a respectable manner when attending a game. We want a day at the rugby to be a pleasant experience for everyone.
With regards to the issue of security and police visibility, which has been raised following this video, we are working closely with Access Management to address these concerns.
We would like to state that Access Management, as the operators of the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, have done a sterling job to date from a safety and security perspective, and 43 people who were not able to behave themselves in an appropriate manner were removed from the stadium grounds on Saturday night.
Following the incident on Saturday night we, together with Access Management, will be adopting a zero tolerance stance.
We will also be lobbying police to assist with regards to more visible policing, and will be assisting Access Management with other initiatives such as education campaigns around encouraging people to sit in their reserved seats.
We would also like to take this opportunity to say that it is unfortunately only a small minority of people who are responsible, and thank the majority for their ongoing support. We would like to encourage these people to assist us in routing out the bad apples by making use of the sms line, 0832045056, to report incidents on game day.
