Brumbies’ booze ban

RICHARD FERGUSON updates keo.co.za followers of the latest Super Rugby news from Australia.
Brumbies’ booze ban
Jake White and his Brumbies charges have gone for sporadic booze bans in an attempt to get to the Super Rugby playoffs this year.
The Brumbies apparently chose to stay away from alcohol for the first two weeks of Super Rugby, which got them two wins from two starts. They have opted to enforce a similar ban whilst in South Africa, their toughest test of the season to date .
Captain Ben Mowen has revealed that he is on a self-imposed booze ban for the entire Super Rugby season, and his team mates have followed his lead in joining him for the two weeks in the Republic.
Genia return confirmed
Will Genia will lead out the Reds for the first time this year, returning from a knee injury that he picked up last year. Genia’s return forces Nick Frisby to the bench while Ben Lucas misses out altogether.
The standing down of Digny Ioane and the injury to Dom Shipperley have forced changes to the backline. Luke Morahan gets his first start while Chris Feauai-Sautia plays on the left wing.
Reds: 15 Jono Lance, 14 Luke Morahan, 13 Anthony Faingaa, 12 Ben Tapuai, 11 Chris Feauai-Sautia, 10 Quade Cooper, 9 Will Genia (c), 8 Jake Schatz, 7 Liam Gill, 6 Ed Quirk, 5 Ed O’Donoghue, 4 Rob Simmons, 3 James Slipper, 2 Saia Faingaa, 1 Greg Holmes. Substitutes: 16 James Hanson, 17 Albert Anae, 18 Adam Wallace-Harrison, 19 Jarrad Butler, 20 Nick Frisby, 21 Mike Harris, 22 Aidan Toua.

Shmeh… If it works it works I guess, but for me it’s always better to balance not ban.

In years to come this will be the norm, not the exception.
As society realises the pitfalls of drinking, the same way it has with smoking, professional sportsmen and woman will be the first to have rules against boozing.
They earn enough money to entertain us, and we invest enough time and money in their lives, to justify blanket bans on booze during their respective seasons.
Alcohol has zero positive effect on their bodies (or minds), so it makes sense. In any case, their careers are over by the time they hit their mid-30′s, so they have enough time to drink when they’re done.

Booze should be outlawed full stop just like cannabis and cocaine it’s the most deprivation inducing downgrade dereliction of moral behavior in society and the most pitiful cause of untold degradation and misery ever devised by so called ‘civilized’ man. Attachment to alcohol is a disease sooner this uncivilized bunch of sapiens come to terms with the degree of the cause of this insipid illness the better for them. Whether in sport or in society in general.
