Wonderful Wales embarrass England

Wonderful Wales embarrass England

Wales are the Six Nations champions after crushing England 30-3 in England.

Leigh Halfpenny’s unerring boot built a commanding lead and then the Welsh pack took control and the loose forwards, as a unit and individuals, destroyed England at the breakdown.

Flanker Justin Tipuric was named man of the match and Sam Warburton showed his 2011 World Cup form.

The collisions were ferocious and Wales were colossal.

Wales, two months ago, lost the tournament opener to Ireland and trailed 30-3 after 35 minutes in that game. The final 30 minutes on Saturday completed a remarkable comeback and the disaster of Ireland will be forgotten in light of the delight of today.

The intensity was befitting a World Cup final, as was the quality of the match.

Alex Cuthbert scored two tries but to a man Wales were inspirational.

OH, come on. The first half was dreadful, very poor passing and some awful kicking it nearly resembled an english soccer match, hoofing the ball up and down. How many balls went out on the full….The 2nd half was great through, but combined I would not go and call it a brilliant game, having just watched the the Brumbies munch, chew and spew Shark bait…
Now that provincial game beat this international any day…

ok but i think you owe the Lions a little more respect than that, Keo
that ‘Vodacom Cup’ team will be back in super rugby next season
besides, its not like they are’nt playing good rugby at the moment.

    Bakkies
Seems like it’s a case of mistaken identity
You are referring to the Lions Challenge and Mark is talking about the Vodacom Cup
On that note, was surprised to see Pumas beat Blue Bulls by 44 to 42
The Vodacom Cup is difficult to predict so far

@Hondo-10: I was wondering what you were going on about for a second but I now realise you’ve just picked the black players out of the England team for sarcastic criticism.

Anyway, Wales were the better team tonight. No complaints.

England have got worse and worse since the Scotland game where we looked good in attack

We looked clueless in attack and lightweight up front

Alex Corbisiero is the best LH in England and when he doesn’t play England’s scrum doesn’t operate

Joe Marler been touted as the next big thing but hasn’t adapted to International level he may do so in 3 or 4 years when he gets more experience

The backs are useless how an earth is Chris Ashton still in the team when we have so many other wingers with huge quality like Jonny May, Christian Wade, Marland Yarde, Tom Varndell. Mike Brown is a full back playing on the wing got exposed badly, Alex Goode isn’t International standard looks overweight and slow

The centres are too predictable Barrit and Tuilagi are too similar.

And lastly Freddie Burns has to be given a chance hes by far the best 10 in England

I love seeing the Poms getting smashed, they have one win over the AB’s at the end of a long season and suddenly they are world beaters. Like their WC defense, which never came and have they ever gotten near a threatening species again…NEIN!!

@captain fantail-18: To be fair it wasnt a beating more like a whipping. And when you whip the All Blacks I think you could consider yourself a potential worldbeater. Remember it was just bad decision making that kept them from claiming all the SH scalps.

@john123-15: They had a Documentary making team with them this week. What was that about? You could see the guys all playing up for the cameras in the papers while the Welsh were grimly sharpening their swords in the shadows. Ben Youngs delivery were superslow while making petulant noises to the reff all night instead of protecting the spilling balls. Ashton I agree with you totally. a real papertiger, worst defender in the England team with a yellow card as his cherry on top. Wade or Bigs small guys with lots of heart and serious turbos will do a much better job.

One has to start wondering about N hemisphere rugby
is Italy getting better or are France wales and England getting worse
    Bit of both?

  • 24.jet jungle: Reply to this comment

@CoachPete-23: Coach Italy is getting better much to the consternation of Malett who claimed between the lines that they are a bit of a hopeless case in the English newspapers last week.

I thought the Lions were going to chew up the Aussies, but after this weekends game against the Sharks, I think the Aussie might be up for the challenge.

England will learn from this campaign. I think the pressure got to them a bit as they were expected to win the 6N. They are still doing well under Lancaster and need to pick themselves up!

@jet jungle-24: I think Brunel is showing us that Mallett isn’t as good anymore as so many people think. Excellent year for Italy. They have a lot more confidence on the field.
