Julian Savea scored a brace of tries as the Hurricanes hammered the Waratahs 41-29.
Savea and younger brother Ardie were both among the star performers as the Hurricanes scored a bonus point win against the men from Sydney.
The Saveas were the home stand out players but it was visiting flyhalf Bernard Foley who scored arguably the individual try of the season.
Foley’s try was one of three Tahs’ efforts but the individual brilliance could not match the three-try Hurricanes blitz in a 10-minute second half spell.
The Canes led 19-16 in a fairly uneventful first half before all the action unfolded in the second 40.
Canes flyhalf Beauden Barrett kicked three conversions and five penalties and former Rugby League and Aussie Rusles convert Israel Folau again impressed.
