Lock Sam Whitelock has broken a finger and will be out of action for six weeks, ruling him out of the All Blacks’ test series against France.

Whitelock broke his finger in the loss against the Chiefs on Friday. Whitelock is the second New Zealand lock to go down in recent weeks, Ali Williams also missing the test series in June.

Jeffery Toomaga-Allen will take no further part in Super Rugby this season after tearing a MCL in his knee.

Toomaga-Allen picked up the injury against the Chiefs two weeks ago. The Hurricanes enjoyed a bye this weekend and face the Brumbies this weekend.

Toomaga-Allen was part of the All Black training squad ahead of the French tests, but had to withdraw as a result of the injury.
