The Bulls beat Griquas in a tryless bore in Pretoria.
The Bulls won 15-9 after trailing 6-3 for much of the first half.
The hosts kicked five from nine penalties in front of a sparse crowd. The attendance was indicative of an understrength tournament and the match was second rate on all counts.
It was a shocker and reminded me of those crappy Sport Pienaar matches back in the day of isolation when the Currie Cup was our World Cup and the Sport Pienaar is today’s Currie Cup.
Griquas kicked a penalty after the hooter to take a bonus point from their visit to Pretoria.
It was a point more than they deserved and to be fair the Bulls got four more than they deserved.
The less written about this one the better.
It was a shocker!
