Further incentive for Bok scalp

British & Irish Lions players stand to earn R850 000 each if they can repeat 1997′s showing and beat the Boks.

Each of the 35-man playing squad will earn R660 000 for making the trip to South Africa and if they manage to win the series will receive a bonus of R190 000.

The touring squad to New Zealand in 2005 was much larger than this year’s group and they received R365 000 even though the All Blacks won 3-0.

Despite the global economic climate expectations are that the Lions will make a profit of R66 million from the trip.

The squad is set to be named on 21 April.
