Hoeata set for debut – Highlanders utility forward Jarrad Hoeata is likely to start against Fiji this Friday as many of the Crusaders players in the All Blacks squad are going to be rested.

According to stuff.co.nz, Hoeata will partner Ali Williams in the second row. While many of the Crusaders’ players will be given some time off before rejoining the Tri-Nations squad on Sunday, a select group could face Fiji.

Ben Franks, Wyatt Crockett, Richie McCaw and Zac Guildford are expected to be in the starting XV while Corey Flynn and Dan Carter could be on the bench.

Jimmy Cowan and Colin Slade will be the starting halfbacks with Conrad Smith and Ma’a Nonu joining forces in midfield. Mils Muliaina and Sitiveni Sivivatu will link up with Guildford in the back three.

Adam Thomson and Liam Messam will complete the loose trio while Andrew Hore is set for a run at hooker.

The match 22 will be announced on Wednesday.
