Pool D – Fiji issue warning to Boks

Fiji issue warning to Boks - A comfortable victory over Namibia has seen Fiji become bullish ahead of their match against the Springboks in Wellington next week.

The islanders scored some sensational tries in their 49-25 win in the pool opener and scrumhalf Nemia Kenatale said they wouldn’t veer from their expansive approach. ‘We want to play wide, go to the backs, create space and make tries,’ he said.

Meanwhile assistant coach Greg Mumm said they had the scrum to set the platform to execute that game plan, but called for tighter defence. ‘We went to sleep a little bit on defence in the second half. We would like to be a bit tighter. We allowed Namibia back into the game,’ he said.
