SA trio make England cut

Brad Barritt, Mouritz Botha and Matt Stevens have been selected for the 42-man England squad to tour South Africa in June.

Coach Stuart Lancaster has picked a large squad for the five-match tour, although the South Africa-born trio are favourites to start in the three Tests against the Springboks.

Lancaster has stuck with Chris Robshaw as his skipper after a relatively good Six Nations campaign. Troubled scrumhalf Danny Care has been handed a recall after missing the Six Nations due to suspension, while hooker Dylan Hartley is included after serving an eight-week ban for biting.

Flanker James Haskell is another who is back in the mix after a strong showing for the Highlanders in the Super Rugby competition.

A total of 13 uncapped players have been included in the touring party. Joe Gray, Christian Wade, Joe Launchbury, Tom Youngs, Jonathan Joseph, George Robson, Tom Johnson, Carl Fearns, Graham Kitchener, Joe Marler, Alex Goode, George Lowe and the New Zealand-born Thomas Waldrom should at the very least receive opportunities in the two midweek games against the SA Barbarians teams.

Tom Wood, Courtney Lawes and Tom Croft are all unavailable due to injuries.
