Sharks hooker Bismarck du Plessis will not be ready for the start of the Super Rugby season.
Du Plessis tore knee ligaments against Argentina in August last year and underwent surgery. According to Beeld, the injury has not healed as well as initially predicted.
‘Bismarck will be ready to take part in the Super Rugby season, but it won’t be in the first part,’ Sharks commercial manager Rudolf Straeuli told the newspaper.
Straeuli added that centre Frans Steyn, who missed the latter part of the 2012 season with an ankle injury, will be ready for their first Super Rugby match against the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein on 23 February.
