Captain Watson back for Kings

Luke Watson will again lead the Kings against the Bulls – and believes a home win is possible.

‘The Bulls are strong play-off contenders and they probably feel like they haven’t shown their best yet. So they will be determined to get things on track against us. This is a South African derby and those are always marked by a high level of physicality. There is massive belief in this squad and we’ll set out to cause an upset.’

Watson has not played for the Southern Kings since the first match of the season. He suffered a freak blow to the larynx 35 minutes into the game.

He played for the EP Kings in last weekend’s win against South Western Districts.

Watson will wear the No 8 jersey while Cornell du Preez moves to the side of the scrum to make place for the captain. Devin Oosthuizen drops from the match 22 altogether. The only other changes to the team are in the second row where David Bulbring displaces Rynier Bernardo and in the front row, where Hannes Franklin and Bandise Maku swop places.

Ronnie Cooke and Sergeal Petersen have also swopped jerseys and will play on opposite sides of the field this week.
