Rebels bounce back

Rebels bounce back

The Rebels hit rock bottom in South Africa, taking a 64 – 7 loss against the Sharks and having disciplinary issues, which led to coach Damien Hill being unsure of how safe his job is. That is all forgotten as the Rebels returned to Australia, and even though they played away from home, put in a stellar performance to beat the Force.

The Rebels broke a five match losing streak and with the five pointer moved above the Force on the Australian log, who themselves only have a single victory so far this year. The win has eased speculation surrounding their coach and another victory this week against the Kings will go a step further in proving this team can win matches.

Force retain returned lock

Hugh McMeniman has signed a two year contract extension with the Force, keeping him at the team until the end of the 2015 season.

McMeniman has recently returned from playing in Japan, where he was with club Kubota Spears for three years, and has re-signed with his current team. McMeniman originally played for the Reds, before making his move to Japan.

McMeniman is an international experienced lock, having played 21 times for the Wallabies, and brings with him a wealth of experience, which can only improve the lineouts at the Force.
