Beau back on Reds bench

Beau Robinson makes his long awaited return to Super Rugby by being named on the bench for the Reds in their match 22 to take on the Force this weekend.

Robinson has been playing club rugby for the past month to get back to full fitness, and will get a chance to prove his fitness, most likely in the second half.

Ewen McKenzie has made three changes to the Reds starting fifteen, Albert Anae coming into the front row, along with Greg Holmes. James Hansen and James Slipper drop to the bench. The only other change sees Rod Davies missing out due to injury, Dom Shipperley coming back into the starting line-up.

Reds: 15 Jono Lance, 14 Dom Shipperley, 13 Anthony Faingaa, 12 Ben Tapuai, 11 Digby Ioane, 10 Quade Cooper, 9 Will Genia, 8 Jake Schatz, 7 Liam Gill, 6 Eddie Quirk, 5 James Horwill (c), 4 Rob Simmons, 3 Greg Holmes, 2 Saia Faingaa, 1 Albert Anae. Substitutes: 16 James Hanson, 17 James Slipper, 18 Ed O’Donoghue, 19 Jarrad Butler, 20 Beau Robinson, 21 Ben Lucas, 22 Chris Feauai-Sautia.

Betham wings it for Waratahs

Peter Betham is the only change to the Waratahs team to take on the Kings this weekend, Tom Kingston making way.

Coach Michael Cheika has opted for consistency ahead of their first match in Port Elizabeth, hoping for a win before they head back to Australia.

The Waratahs gave the Bulls a good match last weekend, leading the match at one stage, but failed to contain the Bulls in the final ten or so minutes. Wycliff Palu has been quoted as saying that they are not underestimating the Kings, who have not lost to Australian opposition in their debut season.

Waratahs: 15 Israel Folau, 14 Cam Crawford, 13 Adam Ashley-Cooper, 12 Rob Horne, 11 Peter Betham, 10 Bernard Foley, 9 Brendan McKibbin, 8 Wycliff Palu, 7 Michael Hooper, 6 Dave Dennis (c), 5 Kane Douglas, 4 Sitaleki Timani, 3 Sekope Kepu, 2 Tatafu Polota-Nau, 1 Benn Robinson. Substitutes: 16 John Ulugia, 17 Paddy Ryan, 18 Will Skelton, 19 Mitchell Chapman, 20 Pat McCutcheon, 21 Matt Lucas, 22 Ben Volavola, 23 Tom Kingston.
