Jaque Fourie and Jean de Villiers are expected to be the midfield pairing in Saturday’s Test against the Welsh. What do you think of Fourie’s immediate return after a two year absence?
Fourie has been playing club rugby in Japan but all indications are he will start at outside centre for the first time since the 2011 Rugby World Cup quarter-final defeat to Australia.
Experienced right wing JP Pietersen is also expected to get a start ahead of Willie le Roux, who will shift to fullback in place of Zane Kirchner.
Bakkies Botha, who only links up with the squad on Tuesday, is not likely to be considered for this Saturday’s Test and he could play a cameo against Scotland and be used in a bigger capacity in the tour finale against France in Paris.
Stormers and Western Province tighthead Frans Malherbe, uncapped, is also being touted to make his Test debut in place of the injured Jannie du Plessis.
Morne Steyn will start ahead of Pat Lambie at flyhalf and hooker Bismarck du Plessis will get the nod over Adriaan Strauss.
What’s your thoughts of the team?
