Cipriani on bench for Baa Baas clash
England have named four uncapped players in their starting XV to face the Baa Baas, while Danny Cipriani is among the replacements.
Danny Cipriani is set to make his England comeback off the bench after being named as a replacement for Saturday’s clash with the Barbarians at Twickenham.
Cipriani, who will leave Wasps for Gloucester at the end of the season, was recalled to the England squad earlier this month, more than three years after his last international appearance.
Yet head coach Eddie Jones has declined to start Cipriani against the Baa Baas in this non-cap fixture, preferring George Ford at fly-half and Elliot Daly at full-back.
There are four uncapped players in Jones’ starting XV. Gloucester’s Henry Trinder has been picked at outside centre, while Worcester Warriors hooker Jack Singleton and Bath duo Elliott Stooke and Zach Mercer are included in the pack.
Ford and Chris Robshaw will co-captain the side. Mike Brown starts on the left wing with Daly taking the number 15 jersey.

“This is a good young squad and their work ethic has been outstanding over the last two weeks,” said Jones.
“Their application to learn has been very good but they are very young at Test rugby level so this week’s match against the Barbarians is a fantastic opportunity for them to step up.”
