England denied victory by All Black comeback
England, hosting the All Blacks and looking for what would have been only an 8th win in 41 tests against World Rugby’s number 1 side, were unable to to finish the job, going down 16-15.
Thriving in the wet, England went up 15-0 at one stage through a try from Chris Ashton, drop goal from Co-capatin Owen Farrell, a penalty from Elliot Daily and a further try from other co-captain Ben Hartley, and looked set to knock over the travelling All Blacks.
The New Zealanders were however able to recover with a converted try from Damian McKenzie and penalty from Beauden Barrett and a further drop goal from the fly half, which saw England’s lead reduced to 15-13.
Barrett landed another penalty on the hour which took them one point ahead, and while England with four minutes left looked to have sealed the game with a try from Sam Underhill, the try was disallowed and they were denied victory as the visitors wound down the clock.
