Groom injury blow for Lions
Lions scrum half Nic Groom has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.
The 28 year old will be undergoing surgery after fracturing his hand against the Bulls this past weekend at Ellis Park.
Ross Cronje, the starting Springbok 9 from 2017 is expected to take over this Saturday’s quarter-final against the Jaguares in Johannesburg, while Dillon Smit offers another experienced option.
The Lions will take on the Jaguares at 15:05 on Saturday.
