Mallett set for SuperSport return
After an extended period off air, SuperSport analyst and former Springbok coach Nick Mallett will make his studio return for this weekend’s Super Rugby.
Mallett confirmed the news to Netwerk24 on Tuesday.
His return will mark his first appearance on air since mid May, when the Ashwin Willemse incident took place. The incident involved Willemse accusing fellow analysts Mallett and Naas Botha of “patronising” and “undermining” him, also referring to them as players from the apartheid era, followed by a walk off air on live TV.
SuperSport’s investigation subsequently found no racism from either Mallett or Botha.
Willies refused to engage with SuperSport in their investigation and remained silent on the matter, speaking publicly for the first time on Tuesday.
Naas Botha made his SuperSport return last weekend.
