Probable Super Rugby return for Vermeulen
It has been reported that SA Rugby has convinced Springbok number eight Duane Vermeulen to make a return to South Africa and Super Rugby in 2019.
Vermeulen recently signed for a short stint at Japanese club Kubota Steelers but it appears likely that he will be returning to a South African franchise next year. According to Netwerk24, this return will be to either the Stormers or Bulls.
While Vermeulen is missing the Rugby Championship due to his Japanese commitments, his new contract would ensure that he is available for all the Springboks’ matches in 2019, the World Cup year.
Positively, the eighthman will be available for selection for the Boks’ end of year your
