Scotland and France call up injury replacements for Six Nations finale
Tommy Seymour, Blair Kinghorn and Stuart Hogg will miss Scotland’s final Six Nations match, while France will also be without two players.
Scotland and France have each called two players into their squads for the final weekend of the Six Nations, after suffering injury setbacks in their respective fourth matches.
Gregor Townsend’s Scotland were hampered by a host of injuries in an 18-11 defeat to Wales on Saturday, with their starting back three of Blair Kinghorn, Tommy Seymour and Darcy Graham all forced off in a bruising contest.
Kinghorn (ankle) and Seymour (rib) have now been ruled out of their side’s clash with England at Twickenham, along with fellow back Stuart Hogg, who remains unavailable due to the shoulder injury he sustained against Ireland last month.
As a result, Ruaridh Jackson and the uncapped Kyle Steyn, both of Glasgow Warriors, have been added to the Scotland squad, while centre James Johnstone and forwards Luke Crosbie, Adam Ashe and Tim Swinson have all been released back to their clubs.
France saw Jefferson Poirot and Wenceslas Lauret hurt in their loss to Ireland.
La Rochelle prop Dany Priso and Montpellier back-row Kelian Galletier have taken their places in the squad for a final-round meeting with Italy.
