South African players, led by Lions captain Warren Whiteley, were among the statistical stars of this season’s Super Rugby.

Whiteley has the most successful tackle rate and Lions teammate Franco Mostert made the most lineout steals.

The Kings’ Chris Cloete won the most turnovers and Pieter Stef du Toit the most lineouts.

Bulls captain Adriaan Strauss was the most accurate with his lineout throwing.

Sharks’s Phillip van der Walt made the most tackles, Elton Jantjies scored the most points and Stormers fullback SP Marais made the most offloads (31).

Cheetahs wing Raymond Rhule had the worst tackle percentage and also missed the most tackles.
