Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to stage 2021 European rugby finals
Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will stage the European Champions Cup and Challenge Cup finals in 2021.
The state-of-the-art venue in north London has proved to be worth the wait after opening behind schedule last month.
Two NFL matches will be played at the stadium this year and both European rugby finals are to be contested at the home of Premier League club Tottenham at the end of the 2020-21 campaign.
The finals were played in Bilbao last year and Newcastle’s St James’ Park will be the venue for Clermont Auvergne against La Rochelle on Friday before Leinster and Saracens do battle in the Champions Cup decider on Saturday. Marseille will play host to the 2020 showpieces.
Our new stadium has been selected by European Professional Club Rugby to stage the @ChampionsCup and @ERChallengeCup finals in 2021.

European Professional Club Rugby (EPCR) chairman Simon Halliday said: “We are very excited to be taking the best club rugby in the world to such an innovative and exciting stadium.
“There is already a real buzz about the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and it will continue the theme of new experiences for our fans in dynamic stadiums that can generate the kind of exceptional atmosphere that has become the hallmark of the Heineken Champions Cup.”
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy added: “We are excited to have been selected to host this prestigious weekend, the pinnacle of European club rugby, in 2021 and to have this opportunity to welcome EPCR and rugby fans from around the world to Tottenham to experience our new home.
“These games will add to the portfolio of world-class sporting and entertainment events our multi-use venue will stage in this new leisure destination for London.”
